About Us

Founder Tara Brown grew up in a small-town in Colorado and has always enjoyed making things. She often had fun ideas of what she should try to make and sell–mostly selling because she enjoyed creating more!

Why Fleece Baby Hats?

While trying to come up with photo props for her daughter’s one-week-old photo shoot in 2009 she remembered some cute baby hats she had made for nieces and nephews. The photos of her newborn in the hats were adorable. Two weekends later on a 16 hour drive to her best friend’s wedding, she kept thinking about the hats.  After crunching some numbers and dreaming about the possibilities she got started on her sewing machine.

Doesn’t every little girl’s basketball team need matching basketball hats with cute little ribbons to keep their heads warm after a game? And doesn’t every baby need a cute little hat to take pictures in? Tara thought so! So the adventure of handcrafting cute hats began and Rocky Mountain Wacky Warmers was born!

All hats are original designs from Tara and handcrafted in Loveland, CO – she has yet to use a pattern and enjoys experimenting with new designs and ideas!  Keep your eyes peeled for the newest adorable hats!
